Tide Times

When can you cross the Strood?

The Strood is NOT covered every day. The highest tides usually happen when the high tide is due between about 12 and 3.30. Outside these times you will probably be fine to cross.

If the tide height is above approximately 4.9m it is likely to cover the road. If the tide height is 5m or more you may need to leave up to an hour either side of the high tide time to be sure of crossing.

The higher the tide height, the longer the road will be covered.

The tide height can be affected by the weather.

Don’t risk it

Sea water is very bad for car engines so its better to sit and enjoy the view while you wait. 🙂
